Special Education Grade Reporting

Notes to consider regarding grading expectations from the Resource Room and who is responsible for a student's grade.
1. INTENSIVE INTERVENTION: Progress reports and term grade reports will be provided for students whose curriculum is "supplanted" (The student receives Resource Room instruction at a different location and "during" general ed. scheduled subject time). *Special Ed. does not have access to enter classroom grades on Skyward so teachers will need to enter them from the Resource Grade Report.

2. SUPPLEMENTAL INTERVENTION: Grade reports "can" be provided for supplemental instruction, where the student receives Resource Room instruction, but not during content area time. (eg: 30 mins. Resource Math during Social Studies).
a. IF: The student receives additional instruction time to master the general ed. content (in class or out).
THEN: No Special Ed. grade is needed.
b. IF: The student receives supplemental instruction from a different curriculum designed to strengthen specific concepts.
THEN: Resource grades "can" be added to the grade report. We should communicate on these to determine their weight.

3. IN CLASS SUPPORT: IF: Special Ed. support/accommodations are provided in the general ed. classroom for the general ed. curriculum. THEN: No Special Ed. grades are needed.

As a rule of thumb, if a student with an IEP is failing a subject addressed in the IEP, then we need to amend the IEP to provide additional support/accommodations/services.

IEP Progress Reports are produced quarterly.
