For some reason this post was listed as a draft, I'm not sure if I ever actually posted it or if I pulled it back to adjust something and then didn't get it reposted.............I may not know the reason it was in draft but I want you to know my thoughts following Core Knowledge Fair. I apologize for the delay and lack of memory.
Before I close this up for the night I want to take a minute to reflect upon the amazing work that was showcased this evening during our Core Knowledge Fair. This evening is such a perfect display of what a dedicated, highly qualified, excellent staff works at Middleton Heights. The teamwork and dedication over the past weeks came together in a marvelous show of student learning.
As I have been in and out of classrooms observing lessons you have demonstrated a depth of knowledge in your students who are able to make connections from history to the arts to math to our lives today. You have created lessons that students will remember for a lifetime.
Tonight students demonstrated great pride in their performances and their projects. They were able to explain the symbolism of their projects. The variety was exceptional, clear down to our very own Liberty Bell on display.
The costuming - food - attitudes - writings - projects - descriptions - volunteerism - displays - videos - ....WOW! I think Lise said it best when she said, "I wish our legislators and representatives could have experienced this tonight." This is quality education. This is the true meaning of students first!
We will take some time Friday afternoon to reflect on the evening and make notes for next year.
Thank you to all the instructional assistants who went above and beyond for the Core Fair. They made posters, timelines, hung projects and more. Where would we be without them!
ReplyDeleteI can't explain the 'draft' of the post - but I think it posted before spring break - at least I remember reading it. Hats off, again, to everyone for another successful Core Fair!
