Spoke with Michael Palmer, Zaeryk's dad, this morning. Surgery went very well. Pelvis lined up 100%. He has a plate and four screws installed. Healing will be four weeks wheelchair with no weight on the left leg. Recovery is going well so far. Dr. expects 100%. :) We will work with family on transition back to school and necessary accommodations.

As most of you know, Kim and I were at an accident scene that involved another one of our fourth grade students, Zaeryk Palmer. It appears Leah Garner is a close friend of the family as was at the hospital most of the day. She had this report for me and I will keep the blog updated as I find out any further information.
"He is in the pediatric intensive care unit at St. Lukes. He has a ruptured spleen with internal bleeding, concussion, broken pelvis, and many cuts and bruises. He will probably go into surgery Monday when he is more stable and able to handle it."

Zaeryk (fourth grader) he is at the Children's hospital at St. Lukes, Boise. He has a ruptured spleen with internal bleeding, concussion, broken pelvis (3places), and many cuts and bruises. He will undergo surgery Monday afternoon to receive a plate and screws for the broken pelvis. One of the first things he said after finding out about his family was to be sure and tell his teacher he won't be there for awhile. The family is happy to have visitors for Zaeryk including staff and students.------Updated 1-16-11
