Polar Bears International's Tundra Connections

In the coming days, Discovery Education will be providing a unique opportunity to students that we want you to be aware of. On Monday, November 15 at 1:00 Eastern and again on Tuesday, November 16 at 11:00 Eastern, teachers and students will have an opportunity to join a live webcast to meet and speak with world-renowned scientists while they're right in the midst of the annual polar bear migration on the tundra near Churchill, Manitoba.

During the live webcast, students will be able to see live footage of polar bears and have the chance to get questions answered by an amazing panel of experts, including:
  • Dr. Steven Amstrup, Senior Scientist, Polar Bears International
  • Jill Marive, General Curator, Quebec du Aquarium, Canadian Association of Zoos and Aquariums
  • Marie Auger-Meth, University of Alberta
  • Dr . Ian Stirling, University of Alberta, Adjunct Professor
Teachers can register their classes and submit questions from students at http://blog.discoveryeducation.com/tundra-connections/

In Discovery Education streaming, enter the keywords "polar bears" to find a new theme page that will help prepare students with background information. We hope many of your teachers and students will be able to participate.
