Tier I discussion:
We need to maintain energy in handing out Hawks Tickets (HT).  This can be done by focusing on the weekly expectation focus.

This week we are to review the bathroom procedures.  After re-teaching bathroom procedures focus on giving HT for those behaviors (as well as others.)  Be specific on your feedback.  For example:

• "This is for using the restroom at appropriate times.", given to student who went on the way out to recess rather than during class time. 
• "Thank you for returning to class promptly.  You were only gone for 1.5 minutes."  
• "Here is a Hawks Ticket for using the bathroom so quietly.  I did not hear any noise."
• "Thank you for waiting your turn to use the restroom."

Next week as a school we will review hallway expectations, as they are starting to get louder.  Please teach these next week and then connect and reinforce with Hawks Tickets.

We also need you to help students make the connection between the HT school goal and the special fun day.  They are doing Pirate Day because of the number of Hawks Tickets turned in during the moth of March.  So even if their ticket didn't get drawn for a Wednesday event, their ticket helped earn the school goal. 

Tier II discussion:

We are using the data pulled from the Office Discipline Referrals (ODR) to begin implementing a simplified check in/ check out system to encourage behavior changes for our eight highest need students.   Students with five or more referrals since our return in January were selected for our pilot program.  Please note, these students were selected due to the data.  If you have a reoccurring student behavior and need help, make sure you are turning in those ODRs.

If you have one of these eight students in your classroom, Angie Davis or Brooke, will sit down with you briefly to design the student goals and explain the system.   As a teacher you then need to be consistent with the system and sending the student with the forms.  Do not stop if the system works.  If it isn't working check with Angie (you can email) to problem solve why.
