Behavior is Communication

During our first week we handed out 321 Hawks Tickets.  Sixty were drawn for the Rock Climbing.  Next Wednesday winners will be able to wear a hat in the building - OMG, hope I can handle that.  :)

Another note from the SWPBIS committee: as we looked at data there is a STRONG trend of disrespect and defiance in the classroom setting between 1-1:30 (as per our ODR).  Think about what is happening for your students at that time.  Are they in transition and off task?  Have they been involved in academics for a long period of time and need a brain break?  Is the subject matter difficult or is it less structured?  What is it that students are communicating through their behavior at this time of day and how can we respond to help prevent some of the negative behaviors?

Remember that this data is only as accurate as the ODR forms that YOU submit.  Our targeted goals are derived from this data.  :)
