The above link will take you to the history of American Education Week. The American educational system is like no other. We believe in educating all children to benefit the future of our Republic. What each of you - ALL OF YOU - do each day to assist with this great endeavor should not be taken lightly. This week, in honor of American Education Week you might:
- Highlight with students the privilege and benefits of a great education
- Share with students your educational experiences - who inspired you to "Go On"?
- Share a successful educational practice with your colleagues.
- Send a thank you note to parents who play an important role in their child's education.
- Have students write thank you notes to a substitute educator for how they help when we are gone.
- Write a note to one or more of our paraprofessionals who stand by our side to make things happen for kids.
- Take time to reflect on the power of your job.
There isn't a person I know that wouldn't agree that teachers make a difference in the lives of kids.
I believe each of you make a strong POSITIVE difference in the lives of our students.
