Little weird to be back in the office alone, knowing other schools are still in session.  I'm sorting through email and regrouping from the Sun Valley conference.  Here are a few updates just to keep you coming back to the blog regularly.

http://www.xtranormal.com/  Check out this website for taking type to animation.  You could use this to create our PBIS teach to lessons on behavior expectations, introductions to centers or units, or to encourage writing for students.  Kind of fun.  :)

Sandy asked a couple of questions about the iPad, both which I was able to Google and find quickly but thought I would share here for you also.  Wonder how to delete text.  If you hold the fn key while pressing the delete button you can erase text in front of your cursor.  Sandy was also having difficulty with her keyboard being right in the middle of the screen.  Here is a quick link for moving the keyboard or splitting the keyboard if you so choose. http://www.groovypost.com/howto/apple-ios5-move-split-keyboard-on-ipad/


Grade level representatives need to sign up for the next round of MTI Unit Study work.  There are offerings for this summer, July and August.  Here is the information - I will also forward a copy to your email.  We are to go together, so let me know what date works best for those that need to go.  Each date will all address K-2, 3-5 and 6-8 topics.

DISCOVERY EDUCATION INFORMATION

Superintendent Luna and the SDE Students Come First and Content Divisions are excited by the opportunity to provide Discovery Education Streaming state wide thanks to the generosity of the J.K. Albertson’s Foundation!


Please continue to use your current Discovery website log in and password until July 1st to access Discovery directly rather than the state account which is accessed through Schoolnet.  You will not lose your Discovery digital content play lists, student info and materials you have created during this school year.

On or about July 1, 2012 teacher Discovery and Schoolnet accounts will be mapped and you may begin to log into ISEE and access Discovery through Schoolnet. Please wait until notified to do so. We will be able to preserve content previously created and saved including but not limited to play list, quizzes etc. at that time.

Important Note: If teachers attempt to log in to Discovery through the ISEE – Schoolnet portal between now and July 1st they will not be able to access the Discovery account materials they created themselves even though they may be able to access Discovery materials through the ISEE -SN portal if you are a registered user.

Please continue to use Discovery as you have in the past, accessing it directly from their website until July 1, 2011. If your district already has library management software and access to Discovery is also provided through a library search and the management portal please continue to do so until July 1, 2011.
