Please complete the math coach feedback survey again after meeting with Cathy the second time.

Before leaving please take measures to secure the building for winter break:
  • Turn heat to continuous unoccupied
  • Lock valuables such as laptops and other electronics in cupboards
  • Take personal items home as they are not covered by insurance
  • Turn power strips off after shutting down computers
  • Unplug personal microwaves and refrigerators
  • Close windows, blinds and lock your door.

Your paycheck this month should show your new contract amount plus the retro months of September, October and November.  Just remember that December will be bigger than January when you start paying off Christmas if you are an average American.  If your contract was at the base rate of $30,000 you may not see any adjustments or changes since you were previously being paid at the State minimum which did not allow for the cuts everyone else experienced.  Newly hired classified staff will also not see a change as they were hired under the new plan.

Next Tuesday about 9:10  and again at 10:10 A.M., Todd Thompson will bring a small group of carolers through the hall.  If you would like to open your door and invite them in or if you want your class to step to the hall, feel welcome.  Otherwise we will just allow them to break our quiet hall rule for a bit of Christmas cheer.

If your class is participating in the sing along, please be out to the gym by 2:15.  The time will end with a quick visit from Santa.  He will hand teachers class sets of candy canes to share with students.  If you have students who do not celebrate Christmas please communicate with Linda about allowing them to come to the library to play a board game or help shelve books.

Sandy brought up the point that fourth and fifth grade students need designated fields for afternoon recess.  My suggestion is fifth grade take the main football field.  Fourth grade can use the field adjacent to that or could be over between the swings if kindergarten is not out.

The annual safety inspection will take place shortly after we return in January.  Please start to check and make sure things are in order; nothing stored on top of teacher coat closet, no daisy chaining, do not use extension cords on a permanent basis, remove items that hinder egress (coming in or out of room), no items should block the doors to the heater closet (no book carts, desks, etc.).  A few weeks ago I asked you to straighten or move items that you have stuffed in the dead room.  I have not seen any progress so this becomes more of a warning.  We will need to clean it up.  We will figure out where to put things.  If it looks like trash or surplus it may be thrown out.
