Teacher Appreciation Lunch is still coming.  Think of it as an extended gift of appreciation.  The PAC has been so laden with carnival preparations that they have not been able to fully plan a special lunch in your honor.  They have not forgotten.

I am trying to keep the calendar on the blog up to the minute up to date.  I understand that some still have trouble with dates changing if you view it in the agenda format, so be cautious. There is only one collaboration left in your regular groups.  On May 18th we will "collaborate" together to share out and celebrate.  In your groups be prepared to share your focus and significant learnings.  You may do it in verse, actions, Power Point or simple verbal presentation.  The following week, May 25th we will meet at the High School for the year end district meeting.

It has been brought to my attention that a lot of classes are just not getting to weekly fluoride treatments.  The nurses are doing research into the current need for such a program, and we are looking for ways in which it might be less of a disruption for teachers.  BUT until then, parents have signed permission forms and are under the expectation that their child is getting a weekly treatment.  Please try to be consistent with this practice. Write it in your lesson plans, put a student in charge to remind you or whatever it takes.  I'm open to ideas and suggestions for next year.

The Leadership Team defined the details for the Sweet Treat Challenge.  Please send all completed calendars to the office so we can create certificates during the week.  We will then send you a list of finishers.  Friday, May 13th after Wise Words, we will invite all achievers to the library to celebrate.

According to last week's poll many of you often wonder why some things are funded and others are not.  Catherine asked a similar question last fall regarding sport expenses at the other schools.  I was able to ask and provide an answer that made sense.  So if you have questions about any funding issues, please, just ask.  I am happy to share any information about our school funds and will find answers to District funds use.  Those few of you who said you feel like you have to do without - you might, but please ask.  I try to find money from the right funds to do what we need.  Ask. If the answer is no you are no farther behind.  If the answer is yes - well.........

We have scheduled movies for the end of the year.  This is to provide teachers time to enter comments on report cards and work on cumulative folders. Second grade has taken on the tradition of connecting theirs to their curriculum and covering it themselves.  Third and fourth grade will be Monday the 23rd and first and fifth on the 24th.  Please decide on which movie you want to show.

Register for Fall MTI classes – The 2011 Fall MTI class schedule registration dates have changed. Fall classes will now be posted on May 2, 2011. Registration will begin May 16, 2011. More information is available online at http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/math/mti.htm.
