- We first reviewed and discussed a document helping us design Leadership Team "governing documents" that will define our purpose and work. More work to be done on this. :)
- Discussed the problem with having two "character assemblies" but wanting to validate students who have met goals during the past month. Instead:
- We decided to not do the school character assembly this Friday, and instead announce Gold Club members and those who earned milkshakes along with certificates and character cards. It will take longer on the intercom but will be much shorter and easier.
- The assembly Monday, is a professional organization. If you are attending, please plan to be in the gym and seated by 1:00. If you are not attending please let me know so we don't call for you.
- Classroom teachers and/or counselors will need to introduce the character trait of the month, excellence/pride.
- Developed a plan to encourage students to take the unplugged challenge. Talk to your leadership representative if you need more details, but here are the essentials to discuss with students.
- I will create and send out challenge forms.
- Students need to sign up for the challenge by next Monday, April 11
- Challenge is to give up electronic entertainment (no TV, movies, videos, video games, computer games, handheld video games......) for a full month.
- If they started April 1 then through the end of the month. If they have not started yet, they would go from Monday, April 11 through Sunday, May 8.
- Parents sign off that they met the challenge.
- All students who meet the challenge will be invited to a "sweet party" where everyone will receive a sweet reward and some lucky winners will take home Walmart gift cards up to $20 each.
- We also had conversation around the District Strategic Plan and setting of new goals for the District. What would you see as the major goal or focus for the District? What goals could we set that would help lead the District into the future and guide decisions?
