February is Dental Health Month.  Second grade students are invited to a  presentation by a local dentist February 18th at 10:15 in the library.

Please turn your class M-Comp universal screeners into the office for us to score and tally.  These need to be finished today; it is only an eight minute test.  They are a little more complicated to score than just a yes or no.  We will do that and compile the results.
All other universal screeners determined for your grade levels should be completed and have had data compiled and analyzed.  If your grade level has not completed this task and you need help posting the data, please let me know.  Your team should analyze the data looking for students at risk of not making adequate yearly progress (for grade level curriculum)  Fourth/fifth grade teams should review Plato progress data for previously identified at risk students to measure growth and adjust interventions where necessary.  Some students may need more time added to intervention or additional work.  Glendi and April are being paid from ISAT remediation money and their time can be scheduled for instruction or oversight of computer use.
Second and third grade need to look at winter IRI data and determine extended reading intervention (ERI)needs for those scoring a 1.  If they require additional services (personnel or materials) I need to calculate those into the small amount of available funds and schedules.

February 14th Kim Brocke's class will host a school assembly to launch the Pennies for Patients campaign.  All proceeds of this drive will benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in honor of Coey Collard.  I have posted the special days on the calendar that coordinate with this drive.  Since we have character assemblies first thing once a month and have Valentine parties in the afternoon of the 14th, we will plan the assembly for 12:30 right after lunch.
