Dr. Seuss Day

Wednesday, March 2nd we will recognize the birthday of Dr. Seuss, favorite children's author.  Our PTA will show up in costume to deliver pencils to students in the classroom.  We have a collection of books you may borrow to share with your class.  I will put them in the office and you can take and return throughout the day so more people can utilize them. 
Students and staff are encouraged to dress up as a Dr. Seuss character for the day.  We will take a photo of Whoville participants.  (Put this on your to do list Lisa, so we don't forget.)

Here is a fact from the biography section of the website.
"If you want to pronounce the name the way his family did, say Zoice,not Soose. Seuss is a Bavarian name, and was his mother’s maiden name: Henrietta Seuss’s parents emigrated from Bavaria (part of modern-day Germany) in the nineteenth century. Seuss was also his middle name."
Easy connection to those studying immigration.  :)
