Immediate attention is needed.......... It is 10PM Thursday night.  Lise Hansen just called from Rexberg to tell me that the Philharmonic program at the Brandt Center next Thursday is practically begging us to attend.
They have the funds to cover the bus costs.  The program also includes a visit from Idaho astronaut, Barbara Morgan to coordinate with the planets music.   I see the curriculum fit, especially for fifth.  If you are willing to go, Lise has the bus requests ready, has the reservations and bus funding.  Students would need to eat lunch early and load the buses at 11:20.  Please let me know (again) by noon on Friday.

After the airing of the newscast Wednesday night, Monique Reed corrected me on the cause of Cameron's death.  The Canyon County Sheriff's Office had told me that he died of pneumonia.  Monique stated that he died of an acute Asthma attack.  Channel 7 is responsible for the inaccurate report on Zaeryk; it was a broken pelvis and not a broken hip as stated.

I am sorry to report that Charlene, our Thursday counselor, is suffering with medical issues and will
most likely not return to work.  She is working with Mike Fried to determine disability options.  I'm not sure what will happen with this position and have not had a chance to discuss it with Mike.  For the next couple of weeks we have a substitute to do the classroom instruction for us.
Jeff Wilhelm is presenting in Boise.  This is another wonderful opportunity.  Kim has posted the flier behind the mailboxes.  The presentations are Wednesday, February 9th.  He is doing two sessions; morning and afternoon.  Jeff has done research and has written books about boys and reading, engaging readers, Inquiry learning and also leads the Boise Writing Project.  He is an engaging speaker with lots to say.  If you are interested in attending please let me know.

Zumba has been such a great success with our staff.  I am amazed at the numbers of people who have shown up to participate and now it is extended Monday through Thursday at 3:45.   They make it look fun.  So if you are interested - join them.  (This includes any of you reading this from other schools.)
