From our lovely librarian - Our Book Fair profit was $ 1624.32. That gave our school about 600 scholastic dollars to spend for books. Linda purchased 14 books directly from the fair and have about $400 left to spend. With Grandparent donations, Linda purchased 60 books which are currently in circulation.
Thank you for your efforts on locking things down this week. I have received many great questions and problem solving conversations. We don't have all the answers but I think as a staff we are a little more prepared than a week ago. When we do our lock down drill, remind the students that it is a drill, a chance to practice. From that I would expect a few more questions or concerns to be generated. Thank you for preparing your students in such a calm manner.
It is November and our annual safety inspection should be just around the corner. I have not received a firm date but it is usually the week of Thanksgiving. Please begin to check your rooms for general concerns; No daisy chaining, nothing stored on top of closets or tall shelves, tall bookshelves should be secured to the wall, furnace room doors should not be blocked, clear path of egress, and of course the biggy.....no door stops. We will worry about the door stops as it gets closer. Let me know if you observe issues that need addressing prior to inspection.
