Skyward Updates

Be sure to check the Skyward page from the left column for tips and links to assist you.

The District had access to a Skyward trainer this week and we were able to learn the next steps to implementation.  One of the major efforts was to develop our own report card templates to mirror what we had previously.  We learned a lot and have put hours into creating our first drafts.  We have a first and a fifth grade design I would like you to look at and give feedback ASAP.  We will then use these to clone and adjust for the other grade levels.  Each one takes a good deal of time to perfect.  When we are done though all the fields will auto fill from your grade book.  This includes the comments.

I would still like to host informal work sessions in the lab for Skyward grade book work.  I will try to be there Tuesday after school.  Maybe Darcy or others could be there Monday.  You need to get into the habit of keeping your grade book up to date so that parents are getting current information on Parent Access.

Comments for the report cards need to be entered in the grade book.  Tamie is working to add to our drop down menu using items from previous report cards.  You will be able to select from the menu or create free form comments.  They can be placed in the report card according to subject or in the attendance area for general comments.

You can use the Skyward message center to either post messages to Parent Access or to email all or some of your families. When you use the message center, your text will display on the main screen when parents log onto their section of Skyward.  I have listed the steps on the Skyward page in the left column of this blog.
