This week a team of District employees attended the State RtI conference in Boise. Much quality information was gained. I believe those that went made new connections for what RtI is and how it works as well as gaining new strategies. I would like to meet with as many attendees as possible during lunch next Monday to debrief and set targets or strategies for our progress. If you are able, please join us and bring your notes to share.

I've received positive responses to the Paint the Town idea. I will submit our application as a team. We have not identified a home in Middleton, but will move forward and hope to work locally. It is not to late to plan to join in the fun.

Next Monday night Middleton is hosting a parent event entitled, Tell It to Me Straight. This dinner is designed to open the teenage world to adults. It is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about the world of your children or the future our students will face. Contact Merrilyn if you would like to attend or help serve.

Just a couple of weeks and our carnival will be here! Booster Club reports that revenues were down, especially with the auction. We need to beat these odds as this is a major source of classroom enhancement funding. Encourage and excite students to bring items for the baskets and to sell raffle tickets. Raffle ticket sales account for a major portion of the earnings. If you have a local establishment that you frequent often - hair dresser, massage, restaurant, business- you might see if they would donate an item, gift certificate or basket. I asked my chiropractor and they were more than willing to help out and gain some advertising. Businesses are more likely to donate if they have a personal connections. We do have letters that can be given as receipts. Thank you for your help and support.
