Welcome Back!

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a love filled time with family and friends over the last two weeks. We return to a busy schedule, tying up lose ends for the semester, taking IRI and gearing into Core Knowledge Fair time.

As you meet this week in both collaboration groups and team planning time, I would like you to review and update your group norms. There are forms you can use for measuring group skills (if you would like these let me know) or you can discuss how well you have been fulfilling your previous agreements. Do you come prepared to work together or do you allow other distractions? Is there something you would like to add to your norms that will improve your teaming skills?

District wide grade level collaboration is scheduled for January 20th and we are the host school. Begin communicating now and planning your agendas.

Please let Cherie know if you are willing to help chaperone the ski night on January 14th. Many of us will be taking the new math course and are not available.

Next October the National Association of Single-Sex Public Education conference will be in Las Vegas. This is the first time this conference has been hosted in the west. It is scheduled for October 9 10, 2010. They are now accepting presentation proposals. I encourage you to submit a proposal either individually or as a team. You can view this past conference program at http://www.nasspe.org/MainText.pdf or review the requirements now posted at www.nasspe.org/conference.html. Early submission is a key.

Most of the projector installation is complete. There are approximately six projectors that were on late arriving shipment and are scheduled to be screwed into place Monday evening. The two classroom amplification systems are still waiting to be installed and the upgraded thingys (can't think of the proper word right now) for the speakers are still on order. Training for the projectors will hopefully begin this week for teams. I have set as priority those teachers who regularly use their projectors with instruction in the past. We want to get you up and going full speed as soon as possible. We apologize for any mess left in your room as a result of the work. If you need help moving items or cleaning up, please let me know.
