It is hard to believe that we are one-fourth of the way through this school year! Conferences lay ahead. Non-tenured staff should submit their report cards to me for a quick review prior to conferences. Kayla, Tracy and Susan have already completed this. Thank you. Things you should know regarding the conference schedule:

  • We will provide a light snack between 2:00-4:00 on Wednesday

  • You may collaborate with your PLC either Wednesday PM or Thursday AM

  • Social committee has planned Thursday lunch w/ Subway. Preorders were taken

  • Conferences are 1-4:00 and 5-8:00 PM.

  • A light meal will be available during the evening break

Nurse Jefferies is tracking changes to the H1N1 immunizations. Another note may need to be sent home to clarify types of immunization available and who may receive it. Please keep student permission forms in your classrooms. When nurses are available to administer, we will have you hand out the permission forms to students to bring to the immunization location.

We are required to include Veteran's Day instruction to students on November 11th. Stoney Winston is willing to plan school events. Lisa Harris and Catherine Hicks have already planned activities with their Buddy Classes.

Spring MTI courses are posted on the State Department of Education website and available for registration on October 30th on a first come first serve basis. One of these courses will be taught beginning in January at Purple Sage Elementary. This is the intermediate level course. Everyone is required to take the MTI course in the next couple of years. Costs are still being covered by State funding.

The District has agreed to use current bond funds to equip classrooms with LCD projectors. Numbers and locations are currently being determined, but it appears that all of our classrooms will have a projector installed sometime around the first of the year. We will be able to hang those that are currently on carts also. Because these are permanent and require more wiring, please be considering preferred locations.

Wednesday, November 4th following collaboration, the team that attended the National Association of Single-Sex Public Education conference will report out regarding what they learned. Please plan to attend this staff report.
