School Leadership Team 9-10-09

The Leadership team met on Thursday after school and discussed the following:

• Lunch room concerns. Fifth grade not getting through line early enough, shortening class time significantly. Will check to see if they are being let in when ready rather than long lines outside. Get temporary host/hostess to help with condiments until student jobs are filled. Possibly move napkins, spoons & forks to end of line to speed set up. Possibly extend lunch till 12:30 and move the 1:15 recess to 1:45.
• Computer/technology issues. Student computers still not set up and need Making the Grade. I spoke with Mike last night about these two items. We are on the list for possibly today on the re-imaging of student computers. Making the Grade is a top priority for our building.
• Summer Library Program reward night - we decided on October 22, the end of the quarter for this celebration. 20-22 students qualified. We can do a late night party as promised. Students do not have school the next day. I will need adult volunteers to help with this party. Leadership team was thinking staff under 30 years of age.
• Author, Gary Hogg will be rescheduled. Leadership team needs your feedback on assembly or just class workshops. Looking into possibility of October visit.
• Picturing America. Leadership team plus a second and third grade rep will look through the book and select prints that fit with grade level curriculum. They are devising a gallery for hanging prints. Grade levels will then be provided the information for those that fit with their curriculum.
