Welcome Back!!

I find it so interesting to welcome people back since everyone is filtering in and out at different times.  The EA's are back today and how fun to have their rested enthusiasm.  They are such an incredible work force - very task oriented. I did see some playing in the halls - they received the new equipment they ordered to incorporate movement in their lessons and they needed to practice.  Remember, if you have things for your classrooms that they can be creating and putting together, send your list to LISA.  Lisa will prioritize and keep things moving.  :) 

The BBQ is scheduled at my house by request, on August 13th beginning at 5:30.  I will provide meats and condiments.  Everyone else can fill in with salads, desserts and beverage of choice (I will have water and lemonade).  Bring your lawn chairs and family.  This is just a great time to kick back and enjoy our time together prior to business of school.  Seriously, EVERYONE (all you classified folks too) should join us.

Teachers - I would like your classrooms management plans written and submitted in a format that is consistent with our Positive Behavior Support program.  Val Foster had a great example from last year.  Our PBIS team also created a form in the spring to complete expectations for areas such as the lunchroom, hallways, library, etc.  Basically we are looking for you to include expectations, what it looks like, nonexemplars (what it doesn't look like) and teach to's (how you will instruct for understanding).  I have placed the PDF and a Template of the form in the T:\Share\PBS folder.  You could also ask Val for a copy of her classroom management plan (I did post last year).

The CCSS work this week is planned and organized by our members of the Boise State Writing Project.  They will need you to bring a few things if you can locate them and I expect their full list soon.  Most important is the food.  We thought we could have participants volunteer to bring AM or PM treats for one of the two days.  Reply here if you will bring AM or PM treats for Thursday (the first day).  The others can figure it out after that.  Also, they would like you to bring your paper copy of the Language Arts Common Core Standards (if you know where they are).  We will have a few extra copies.  The App on your iPad will also come in handy but may want to write, cut and paste the paper version.

Most of us will be at the Middle School on Tuesday and Wednesday for new student registration.  If you need anything that is where you will find us (or by texting :)

More to come as I think of things.  I'll just start throwing them to the blog, hopefully in some organized fashion, but that is not how my brain is currently working.
