Today - Friday is the Idaho Theater for Youth assembly at 1:00pm. If you plan to attend, please plan to be seated and ready by 1:00. If your grade level wants to do recess following you may arrange that with the person on duty. The character assembly was postponed until next Friday. Please complete your February citizen sheet and return it to Yvonne as soon as possible. She has already marked those students with office referrals (major incidents and three or more behavior tracking forms).
A District inspection/inventory is scheduled to be conducted the days of March 7-13th. This will require 'strangers' to walk our building and scan or inventory items. You need to mark any personal items used in your room with a sticky note that says personal. I'm referring to radios, refrigerators, or equipment you have brought from home. Failure to do so may result in it being identified as District property.
I need some other teachers volunteers to host C of I students. The time does not work for fourth grade due to specials. Third grade has their intervention at this time but if Susan or Val could host in their intervention groups, let me know. Otherwise we must rely heavily on K-2. Sandy has volunteered for fifth. Students will be here next Tuesday for a tour. If they are placed by then, they feel a bit more connected knowing where they are assigned. Thank you Sandy, Suzette, Stephanie and Stephanie. (Also Lise, although I don't have any music majors.)
We have three classroom parent volunteers to head up the auction baskets for the carnival - Navratil, Pfeifer and McCormick classes. I have posted a request in the newsletter to go home on Monday and in the Gazette. The PAC is trying to have a parent oversee this for you to take something off your plate this sprint. If you could help us identify a parent a PAC member will call and ask. If you would rather do this on your own as in previous years just let me know your theme. Conferences are usually a great time to advertise the idea. Let me know if you have a possible parent volunteer. Susan added it to her weekly newsletter and had a parent volunteer. Remember we rely heavily on carnival proceeds for field trips, Wagon's Ho!, technology, reading incentives, big toys and climbing walls. This money also covers many of the fitness incentives.
By the way - the raffle prize is REALLY cool this year. We have acquired a Traeger wood pellet grill as a donation and are adding pellets, meat certificates and tools to the prize. Want to know about a Traeger gill? Check this out!

Does the inventory include curriculum items or manipulatives that are our own?
ReplyDeleteThe inventory should only count large items or items that 'appear' to have a high value. I don't think your curriculum item or manipulatives will be counted.
