- Apology to Bruce. Bruce, not Greg, was the rep who put the forms in all the recess folders for us last week.
- Although postcards are to recognize exceptional or special acts of the 3Rs, all staff needs to be cognizant of providing a ratio of 5positives to each negative referral.
- Team members will begin to incorporated some ticket type verbal recognition systems in their classrooms and share out next time.
Darcy will share with all lunchtime duty personnel an incentive for them to increase their positive interventions. She will give you the details, but basically each time you give a positive verbal accolade to a student you will provide them a 'ticket' to add to 'the can' as they return from lunch or recess. The tickets will be color coded. The employee at the end of the month (February) with the greatest amount of 'tickets' handed out with verbal praise will earn a duty free Friday. Won't that be great? Popcorn, pizza and no recess duty. :)- Bruce will discuss this same type of idea with morning and afternoon recess duty personnel if they are interested in participating.
- We would like to rework the office referral form. We will list all of the behaviors in one list, but divide out the severity by whether the behavior affects only the student, affects others, or is chronic, or against policy or the law. We will check one of those and then circle the behavior.
- To increase the consistency of completing the SWIS forms, we suggested that teachers of upper grades hand the student the form and state the offense. The student can complete the name, date, time, location and offense. Not required; just a suggestion.
