THINGS TO BE AWARE OF

This weekend we 'fall back' to regular time, leaving daylight savings.  Don't forget to set your clocks, get an extra hour of sleep and arrive Monday morning well rested.

I have noticed that things have been dropped off or shoved into storage closets and the dead room.  Our annual safety inspection is fast approaching and we are going to need to clean up these spaces.  Please stop by the one you are most likely to have put things in and help organize your stuff.  Items need to be placed on shelves or thrown away.  Nothing is to be stacked on top shelves which could block the flow of water if the sprinkling system was required. Broken chairs or unwanted items can be sold to the highest bidder or taken to the dumpster.  If our school name is removed from old textbooks they can be given to students. 


I have received the projected dollar amount that we can use for ISAT remediation.  These monies are to be used for students who scored below proficient on last spring's ISAT.  Fourth and fifth grade teachers will need to look at student data to identify those students and then determine how best to meet their learning needs. We can either purchase materials or personnel time or both.  We may budget for $4, 673.

It is my understanding the Perfection Tire of Middleton will be issuing discount cards to school employees.  These cards do not expire, can be used repeatedly by you or your spouse over multiple years.  I will hand these out when they arrive.  If you use them, please thank them for their generosity and support of our schools.

Leadership Team will meet Monday at 3:00.  Please provide feedback about parent conferences.  Our attendance was significantly lower than usual.  This year we met with 89% of families; yet in previous years fall attendance was 96% or higher.  If the Board approves the negotiation agreement ratified by MEA we will be adding two evenings of conferences to certified schedules in March. We also need to still determine calendar dates for school activities.
