Begin Thinking Carnival

I know it seems early, but May 6th will be here before you know it. The first thing the Parent Advisory Committee needs from teachers will be the selection of basket themes.  Without parent conferences this spring, we will need to be more proactive in promoting basket donations with class parents.  We have data from prior carnivals as to the amount of money each theme brings in. The PAC will generate a list of basket themes from which you may choose.  If you have an idea going already, please let me know.  The class created items such as the quilt from Kim & Anna's classes sold well.  April brought in a cute bench idea that could be refinished by a class if you choose a project theme.  We also thought we could get a bidding war going if we had an ISU basket to put up against the BSU theme.  They would like you to stay with adult themes knowing that they sell best and Mother's Day is two days following the carnival.  The following themes are proven winners:
  • Chocolate Lovers
  • Date Night (thank you Angie & administrators)
  • BSU (ISU challenge)
  • Camping
  • Spa Basket
  • Gardening (50/50 on this one)
  • Italian Cooking

  1. Mrs. Brown would love to have the Chocolate Lover's basket. We always exaggerate the "BROWN" in chocolate!
