Glendi has chosen to go back to part time status and wait for a position that involves student-centered work.  Her heart and gifts are with intervention and student instruction.  We are working on her schedule (and that of Cathy's) to utilize their skills with kids as much as possible during student contact hours.  Beginning Monday Glendi returns to part time and Yvonne will begin full-time work at Heights.  Yvonne will work as Cherie did, to provide classroom support in copies, data input, covering classes and all around everything. Watch for new schedules beginning next week.  Let me know if you have needs that we can help support.

Members of the State Board of Education today approved the K-12 Common Core State Standards for mathematics and English language arts to better prepare Idaho students for the 21st century. The standards will now go to the Idaho Legislature in January for final approval. If adopted, the new standards will go into effect in the 2013-2014 school year.

Midterm reports are due to go home November 29.  This is the Monday following Thanksgiving break.  You should be using Skyward progress reports (except kindergarten).  I would like you use Skyward to email as many midterms as possible and ask parents to reply or confirm receipt. You will need to send hard copies for those without email addresses. Maybe you could include another notice for them to sign up for Skyward Family Access if possible.

New Education Jobs Fund website is live – The State Department of Education has created a new webpage dedicated to the federal Education Jobs Fund in Idaho. Please visit http://www.sde.idaho.gov/site/EdJobsFund/
