What a great first week back. The atmosphere in the building felt calm and positive even with many major hiccups. One of our substitutes this week commented that she loves coming to our building because of the positive calm feeling. Keep it up. That is a great way to be known. Next week is looking like a very busy and exciting schedule. Student presentations @ School Board meeting, Dads & Donuts, Bogus Basin Ski Night, and end of semester just to name a few.

Friday the 15th inservice plans is being finalized tomorrow. It was great that the District allowed us to use this day for inservice to help us recoup time furloughed at the beginning of the year and in October. We will use the morning for report card work so that you can feel organized and ready to focus during inservice. The afternoon will be the next step in Assessment for Learning. This will be a shared learning time with the Middle School, but we will not be running around town interviewing and completing service tasks.

I would love for report cards to be ready to send home on Tuesday, January 19th. It would help you 'get it done' and communicates to parents in a timely fashion. I know that this may cause a hardship for nontenured teachers who submit to me first. I am publishing to parents that they should receive their child's report card no later than January 25th. Remember to submit a copy for noncustodial parents.
