Our own Bruce Harris has been undergoing tests for anomalies with his heart detected during medical checkups. His cardiologists has determined that Bruce was quite jealous of the meal we sent to Toni's family. Therefore Bruce has decided to sign up for his own defibrillator implant. Seriously, Bruce and Lisa will be scheduling this very same surgery for Bruce. His troubles appear to be the result of a virus that effected the heart. Arteries and raceways are clear, but the heart is working well under capacity.

The Core Knowledge Fair date has been changed to Thursday, March 11th. Sixty percent of the respondents chose to switch. Thank you for your flexibility.

Recently we have had many students sent to the office to have copies made by Cherie, but have had multiple days where our copy volunteer has nothing in the basket. Is there no longer a need due to the ability to send items to the copier and retrieve them all later? Are you doing more with the projectors and less with the copier? Please vote on the poll this week and give us an idea as to the need for the position in the future.

We are starting a new way of vision screening this year under the direction of Dr. Black on Feb 10th. We will be screening 3rd graders only, so if you have concerns for the vision of any of your students please email Merrilyn Jefferies their names to be included in this screening. Merrilyn will screen all kindergarten students starting the second week in Feb.

The Summerwind Skippers will be here next Friday for a morning assembly. Toni uses this as a launch to her Jump Rope for Heart unit. It is still your choice as far as attendance. If you choose to come, please review with students audience expectations and be there in time to be seated before 8:40. Students should NOT use the gym bathrooms during the assembly.
