I need ideas for a student presentation to the School Board at the January meeting. This requires a prepared 5-10 minute sharing by students. The meeting is scheduled for January 12, 2010 @ 6:30 pm.

Be sure to have your phone tree information correct and at home. This may seem obvious, but some still have their call list at school. If we were to have a school closure we will activate the phone tree. After receiving a call, you are to call the next person on the list. If for some reason you are unable to contact them, call the next person until you convey the message first hand.

It was brought to my attention that somewhere along the way we have cut or misplaced the written document of our snow rules. I will work to rewrite this so that we and students have access. The main points are to stay off ice (no sliding), no throwing snowballs, no "white washing", if others build forts, snowmen or other constructs do not deliberately destroy them. This also leads us to no playing King of the Hill type games from the top of these "super snowballs". If we have snow on the ground after earning a "green recess", we allow students to go to a special area for a snowball fight during this special recess and only this special recess. Anyone in that area should be prepared to be hit by snow! Am I missing any rules?
Next Thursday at 2:00 we will host a school sing-a-long in the gym. Please bring your class prepared to participate. Lise is leading this, but I would guess that it won't go any longer than 20 minutes. First grade has specials at this time. Except for Lise, others in charge of those classes at that time should plan to escort those classrooms to the gym.
