Great learning and sharing is taking place in Atlanta and we are looking forward to returning and sharing with you what we have heard. Our presentations are still pending, but we have had wonderful opportunities to converse with colleagues across the country. The information is nothing radical. Good instruction is good instruction for ALL students. Differentiation is important for all learners.
"If you understand gender differences you can break down gender stereotypes."
For example, if we understand how girls learn math and teach for that learning, then we can break the stereotypical comment of girls aren't good at math. If we learn how to engage boys in writing and reading, we can overcome the stereotype of girls read, boys move.
